Our philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness. Since 2002, we have been on the prowl for a cure! Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women in the United States. One in eight women will be affected with breast cancer in their lifetime. Even though it is more common in women, it does affect men as well. Breast cancer in men accounts for 1% of all breast cancers. For some, the effects of breast cancer can be seen closer to home.
Our mission is to raise awareness on our campus and in our community. We raise awareness that breast cancer is not bias. It can affect anyone at anytime no matter their age, their race, or their gender. We also raise awareness that early detection is key. We can be a part of the cure! Each year our chapter and national organization hold events to raise awareness and money for the cause. These events are listed below and are open to the community. |
Zeta Chapter works closely and donates money to the Breast Cancer Assistance Group of Monterey County. All of our donations help local men and women who have suffered from breast cancer. To learn more information about them visit their website here: http://bcagmc.org/
